Hervé Listeur, Magician - Presentation of the Parrots
His passion for animals and especially for birds started during his childhood in Africa where he lived many years. Hervé Listeur has now 4 parrots, many doves and a few parakeets.
The first arrival was a female cacatoes with a yellow crest who is now 11 years old. She is called Cookie and she can perfectly pronounce her name! She is very gentle, a little shy and loves to be stroked. She also knows how to lift a bucket with a string to collect a treat.
The second arrival is a male "Ara Ararauna", a magnificent parrot, 10 years old. His name is Lorito. He loves to play: he can do a simple jigsaw, put a coin in a piggy bank, play basketball (he actually scores a lot), open his wings on request... His master can even order him to lie on his back, very awkward situation for a parrot that makes him vulnerable.
The third parrot is a female "Ara Militaire". Her name is Wally and she is now 7. A very charming parrot but difficult to handle. She always needs to be occupied.
The last one is another female cacatoes who was taken in by Hervé Listeur a few years ago so we are not sure how old she is. Her name is Polux.
All the parrots are still quite young knowing that these birds have an average life span of between 60 to 100 years. They are hardly teenagers!!
